Dr Soraya Akl

“My favourite part of general practice is being able to build long-term relationships with patients and seeing them through their health journeys”.

Originally from Lebanon, I studied at the University of Edinburgh, qualifying as a doctor in 2016. I then spent several years working in hospitals across South and central London before completing my vocational GP training at Imperial which included training in elderly care, ENT, paediatric, and emergency medicine.

I enjoy all areas of general practice, particularly health promotion, elderly medicine, and paediatrics, holding a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Alongside my work at Sloane Street Surgery, I do public health research and continue to work at an NHS practice in South London.

Outside of work, you can find me on the tennis court, on long cycles, or spending time with family and friends.
