Dr Clare Michell

I graduated in Physiology before qualifying with honours in Medicine from Bristol University in 2008. I spent my early medical career training in various London teaching hospitals, during which I attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).

Throughout my training, I worked in multi-racial and culturally diverse communities and gained experience across several specialist areas, giving me an extensive and well-rounded clinical background. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages and particularly value the breadth and variety that comes with general practice.

Alongside my GP work, I also have a specialist interest in women’s health and the menopause, and I am a Certified Menopause Specialist with the British Menopause Society. I provide evidence-based, individualised care to support women of all ages with hormonal changes from puberty through to the menopause and beyond, taking time to consider symptoms in the context of overall health, lifestyle, mental wellbeing and long-term risk.  Ensuring women feel informed, confident and well supported is a central part of my clinical practice.

Alongside clinical work, I have always enjoyed teaching and have been involved in undergraduate medical education at Imperial College, St George’s University of London and the University of Oxford.

I moved to Wiltshire in 2017 and work as an NHS GP, alongside caring for private GP patients at Sloane Street Surgery Marlborough. I also sit on the Wessex Local Medical Committee (LMC), representing the interests of local GP practices at national level.

Outside of medicine, I have played competitive sport at an international level and have taken part in numerous worldwide challenges as an Expedition Medic. My husband and I have three children, and when not ferrying them around to various sporting events, we enjoy family bike rides, trekking, tennis and water sports.
